We finally broke down and subscribed to the Dallas Morning News. Makes me feel like a grownup. It's about time I felt like an adult....after all I am 30 years old! Yes we get the print version - which gives us access to the online version, but I enjoy a real newspaper.
I don't enjoy sad articles that report the worst of our human, sinful, and destructive natures. Apparently a woman didn't like that her toddler couldn't handle potty training so she glued her to a wall. I repeat. Glued her to a wall. What kind of person, no matter how frustrated they become with a child can in their right and sane mind glue a child to a wall. Sick. Pray for this little girl.
I wandered over to the grocery store to hunt for dinner while pondering the sort of person that would treat a child like that. Lost in thought I exited the grocery store and was met with the cutest 4 year old girl handing me a piece of paper. Quickly skimming the little 3x5 sheet of yellow paper, the words "John 3:16" stood out. These very sweet and innocent-faced children, their parents watching over them, were letting people know in a gentle manner that God loved each of us so much that he gave his only Son to die for us. Children are precious. I asked the parents what church they attended and as they happened to attend a local Korean church, I thanked them for the encouraging slip of paper with one of the few Korean phrases I know, kam sa ham ni da.
